Client App Review: Alicia Neave
Ifirst met Alicia about 2 weeks after being chosen as a Tone & Sculpt ambassador, we were in London for our first ever photoshoot. Honestly I have never been so nervous in my life, but the second I saw Alicia and her beautiful, welcoming smile I felt instantly at ease.
Alicia has a glow about her that really brightens up the room. For those of you who follow her on socials know that she is not only strong, but smart, funny and full of positive energy. She has one of the biggest hearts I have ever known and is really paving the way for fuller figured females, something she is (and quite rightly so) extremely proud of.
I feel so fortunate to call her a friend, someone who is always there and someone I hope to keep in my life always. Here I got to sit down with Alicia and ask her some questions so you can all get to know her a little better too.
Tell us a bit about yourself Alicia.
My name is Alicia Neave, I’m 21 years old, I’m a full time Primary Education Studies student and part time worker in a local shop in Essex in England.
Tell me about your fitness journey so far.
So my fitness journey started around 3 years ago when I was with an ex boyfriend at the time who was heavily into fitness. However I was not into fitness at all!! I had a bad relationship with food and my body but wanted to go to the gym to support my ex. I found Krissy at this time and decided to follow her workouts from Instagram and YouTube. I would make notes of all the exercises and how to do them on my phone and try to do them in the university gym. After a very bad break up and suffering from mental health issues, I decided to purchase Krissy’s PDF summer body plan and finally start working out for me! And I loved it! I started to feel good about myself again. Then after a while I started to slip into my old habits with eating again and I put on weight. However I then heard Krissy was bringing out the App and I was straight away on board! I started using the app and noticed a change in my confidence, which then improved my mental health massively! I’ve also noticed amazing physical changes and I couldn’t be happier!
Why is staying healthy important to you?
For me, staying healthy not only makes my body feel good, it creates a positive impact on my mental health. If I’m living a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and healthy eating habits, not only does my body feel good but my mental health improves. My confidence goes up and my mind feels less clouded. I am more awake and have so much more energy which as a student I need! Staying healthy is a way of me looking after my body both inside and out!
What is your favourite part of the app?
My favourite part of the app is the different types of workouts you can get! Not only can you have access to a home guide but you can pick and choose between muscle specific workouts and even 15 minute workouts which are so perfect for a student like me! Because I don’t always have the time for a full workout but I still want to get my exercise in!
What one piece of advice would you give your younger self when you started your fitness journey?
That I have no need to be ashamed of my body. My body is beautiful and it has gotten me through some tough times so I owe it a lot. Keep pushing and never give in. Don’t do it to prove anything to anyone else, do it to prove to yourself that you can.
Why did you choose the Tone & Sculpt app over any other fitness app?
Because I trust Krissy, I used her plans before and they 100% worked for me, the structure, the nutrition and the workouts themselves. I knew the app would be a step up from the PDF guides and I was ready to continue my journey! The community also made me definitely sure I wanted to stick with Tone & Sculpt app because honestly I never felt like I belonged in the fitness community until I met so many amazing diverse women through Tone & Sculpt!
What motivates you?
What motivates me is knowing that I’ve been through hard times and had so many people underestimate me… but now I’m doing this for me and I’ve come so far! I’ve shown not only them but myself that I can do this. I’m motivated by seeing how far I’ve come and how far I can go!
Tell us something that you are proud of.
I am so proud of never giving up and that I’ve kept pushing every single day to improve. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come in myself. I’ve come such a long way and my confidence had grown so much and I really love that. I feel like a totally different person to the person I was even a year ago! I’ve grown and learnt so much!
What is your go to power song?
Woman by Kesha 100% that’s my squat song! When I need to lift really heavy or I have a really challenging exercise, I put that on and feel like “YEAH! I am a woman! I’m strong as heck!”
If you had a super power what would it be?
Oooo definitely to read minds! You could find out so much stuff and people’s deepest secrets! And I could read my dog's mind and I'd love to know what she’s thinking, but she’s probably always thinking about chicken!
What's your favourite animal?
DOGS! For sure! I am a huge dog lover! I have a cockapoo called Rosie and I love her! She’s literally like my child!
What is your favourite movie?
I’ve never actually had just one favourite movie! It changes all the time! But Titanic will always be one of my favourites! And I love Bohemian Rhapsody because I am the BIGGEST Queen fan of all time!
